EDG is excited to bring on a motivated Restoration Architect join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the firm’s continued innovation and development. As a Restoration Architect, you will support the management and coordination of architects and engineers while contributing to team organization, mentorship, and project execution. You will work on a dynamic portfolio of New York City projects across all five boroughs, ranging from affordable housing to luxury high-rises, and from landmarked structures to iconic NYC buildings. Our team addresses restoration and historic preservation challenges across all project phases from planning through construction administration with direct engagement with DOB, building owners, and key stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Lead multiple complex projects, including historic preservation and landmark-designated properties
Coordinate team organization, staffing, and project planning
Manage façade, plaza, roof, and garage restoration projects from inception through completion
Oversee building envelope investigations and develop restoration design solutions
Prepare and manage Local Law 11 (FISP) reports, including site inspections, documentation of conditions, and DOB submissions
Conduct field inspections via ground, roof access, lifts, and supported/suspended scaffolding
Contribute to architectural design and real estate development initiatives
Produce and review construction documents, including plans, details, and specifications
Ensure compliance with Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) requirements and coordinate submissions
Lead contractor walkthroughs during bidding and evaluate proposals
Review payment applications, change orders, and construction schedules for accuracy and compliance
Support business development efforts by cultivating new opportunities and maintaining client relationships
Assist in proposal development, including project scoping and staff/time allocation
Requirements
6-10 years of relevant experience in restoration architecture in New York
3+ years of Local Law 11 / FISP experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required; Master’s preferred
Registered Architect (RA) preferred or in progress
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel required
Strong attention to detail and communication skills
