Senior Architectural Drafter/Designer

Kari Whitman Interiors is a high-end residential and commercial design-build firm known for exceptional design, quality construction, and innovative project execution. We are seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Drafter/Designer to join our team in Boulder, Colorado.

This position is ideal for a technically strong architectural designer/drafter with extensive experience producing construction documents, coordinating consultants, and managing projects from conceptual design through completion. The successful candidate will be highly proficient in AutoCAD, knowledgeable in elevations, schedules, code and permitting, and comfortable leading multiple projects simultaneously.

This is a fully in-office position in Boulder, CO. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available.

Responsibilities:

• Develop architectural designs and construction documentation for residential and commercial projects
• Prepare detailed floor plans, elevations, and permit-ready drawing sets using AutoCAD
• Coordinate with other team members and subcontractors throughout the design-build process
• Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communications
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy, constructability, and code compliance
• Conduct site visits, field measurements, construction observations, and project walkthroughs

Compensation:

• $70,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience
• Performance-based bonus opportunities

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday
• 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Important: This position focuses on architectural design, drafting, construction documentation, and project coordination. It is not an interior decorating focused role.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Architecture or a related field required
• 3+ years of experience AutoCAD + construction documents
• Experience working in residential architecture, architectural drafting, or design-build environments
• Strong knowledge of CO building codes and permitting processes, schedules, and elevations
• Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and standard office software
• Must have reliable transportation and personal laptop
• Comfortable working in a dog-friendly office environment
• Must be available to work full-time in our Boulder office
