ABOUT THE POSITION
The Job Captain/PM manages drawing production and day-to-day operations on residential projects, working in conjunction with the Principals and Senior Staff on the account. The Job Captain/PM produces construction documents based on the scope of the work and schedule set. Working with our team, they make design, code compliance, and construction detail decisions. The Job Captain/PM oversees and is supported by Designers and Drafters. This position is full of opportunities with boundless potential for growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In-House Responsibilities
Leads day-to-day operations of project phases from concept through construction
Manages Designers and Drafters to deliver drawings on-schedule
Leads Designers and Drafters when they encounter new tasks, unfamiliar code sections, or unfamiliar construction details
Can redline drawings and/or review and ensure that all redlines are complete prior to publication
Personally designs and drafts parts of the project, especially those that are more technically complex including architectural drawings, plans, and detail sheets
Competently uses REVIT and is familiar with BIM360 for architectural drafting and collaboration
Knows how and when to create or modify details and other drawing standards to fit the requirement of each specific project
Can independently research zoning codes, unfamiliar code sections and construction details
Client and Consultant Coordination Responsibilities
Handles routine communications with the client
Handles routine communications with the consultant team and checks drawings for coordination
Handles routine communications with the general contractor, such as submittals and RFIs that do not have significant cost of schedule impacts
Handles routine city submittals and re-submittals for Planning & Building Permits
Can multi-task, balance project tasks, manage interruptions, and keep project work flowing
Thinks ahead to what needs to be done and communicates with team ahead of time to ensure productivity on projects and that work is proceeding in a timely manner

JOB REQUIREMENTS - ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Organized, flexible and efficient, with the ability to multitask
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and time management skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts in English

Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited Architecture/Interior Architecture program
Minimum of three (3) to eight (8) years of previous experience working in an Architecture firm
Strong REVIT skills – 2+ years of experience required
AutoCAD - 2+ years of experience, a plus but not required
BIM360 & Autodesk Construction Cloud – a plus but not required
Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills are a plus but not required
Interest in ARE licensure preferred but not required
Working vehicle and valid driver's license required with the ability to commute to the office, site visits, and client meetings
Experience in Residential Architecture is a plus, but not required.
