Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Planner Manager within the Capital Project team to support the early phases of project development, including concept, programming, and design. This role is ideal for someone with experience managing planning activities and coordinating diverse teams through the initial stages of project delivery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling, documentation, and stakeholder coordination across multiple projects. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive clarity in complex discussions are essential.
Responsibilities
Meets with departments within Getty and outside consultants to coordinate project designs and scope
Tracks projects’ early phases from concept through construction documents.
May lead or represent discipline in interdisciplinary projects
Develops cross-functional and/or cross-entity partnerships and initiates new and productive internal and external alliances. Builds consensus, encourages two-way feedback, and acknowledges contributions of others
Gathers design requirements and specifications.
Provides options for solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
Coordinates with other Getty departments to incorporate their systems’ needs, such as Getty Digital and Getty Security.
Knowledge of industrial design and architectural practices, including life/safety and ADA regulations
References and researches emerging approaches as well as established practice standards and/or policies
Coordinates and creates meetings for working groups and focus groups.
Takes notes and organizes project folders to document decisions.
Creates schedules and coordinates with other in-house project managers and outside consultants.
Drafts, reviews and proofs RFP and RFQs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Design, Planning, Project Management, or a related field.
3 to 5 years of professional experience in planning, project coordination, or project management—ideally within the built environment or creative industries.
Proficiency with scheduling and productivity tools (e.g., MS Office, Excel, Power Point, Miro Boards)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience taking and distributing high-quality meeting notes.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
Familiarity with design processes and terminology is highly desirable.
Experience in design-led environments (e.g., architecture, urban planning, interior design, etc.) is a plus.
