Senior Project Designer
Company name: Confidential; will be shared during phone call.
This is a full-time, direct hire position.
Office location: Sarasota, FL (hybrid work schedule; 2-3 days per week in-office)
JOB SUMMARY
We're in search of a talented Senior Architectural Project Designer to lead transformative projects from concept to completion. This role requires a leader who can blend design artistry with technical expertise. A strong grasp of architectural history and engineering principles will enhance your contributions. While licensure is preferred, your ability to inspire and deliver exceptional designs is key.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Lead and mentor a creative and precise design team.
Develop innovative design concepts with a compelling narrative.
Conduct regular reviews to ensure designs meet high technical and creative standards.
Uphold exceptional graphic standards for design presentations.
Facilitate design workshops to refine and improve solutions.
Coordinate and lead client meetings, integrating feedback into projects.
Act as a primary contact for clients, ensuring clear communication on all project aspects.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Strong ability to communicate complex technical and artistic concepts through speech and sketches.
Quick and effective sketching skills.
Excellent writing and communication capabilities for detailed design narratives.
Aptitude for tailoring designs to budgetary and site-specific constraints.
Skill in revising designs to accommodate technical requirements and client feedback while maintaining artistic intent.
Exceptional multitasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership to inspire and motivate a team.
Self-motivated and proactive in problem-solving and client engagement.
Proficient with design software including Revit, SketchUp, and Lumion.
Commitment to mentoring junior team members, supporting their technical and creative development.

QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of experience in architecture
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture
Experience in commercial, residential, municipal, sports, and/or educational projects (residential only would not qualify)
Licensure preferred
LEED or equivalent certification in sustainable design is a plus
