Magdalena Keck Inc. is seeking an Architectural Designer with a minimum of 5 years experience in high-end single-family residential architectural design, taking at least two projects to completion.

We are an internationally published boutique studio specializing in interior architectural design and creative direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and Planning

• Architectural interior and exterior 2D and 3D spatial studies for a single-family freestanding house

• Research and selection of interior and exterior materials, finishes, fixtures, lighting, and hardware

• Development, documentation, and presentation of kitchen, bathrooms, wellness areas

• Development of designs for custom millwork: stain, closets, cabinetry, seating, and doors.

• Development of lighting plans and selection of lighting fixtures.

• Functional knowledge of high-end contemporary and vintage furnishings.

Construction Documentation

• Development of full sets of working drawings

• Coordination of project documentation with consultants

Construction Administration

• Field observation and surveying

• Participation in design team meetings and preparation of meeting minutes

• Project documents coordination: respond to RFI’s, review shop drawings and submittals

Project Coordination

• Liaison with consultants: architect of record, MEP, structural, civil engineers, landscape designers, contractors, and vendors

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or equivalent
• Ability to work within an established project concept, taking it through SD, DD, CD, and CA phases

• Ability to present design and technical ideas to colleagues, consultants, and clients

• Excellent spoken and written English. Excellent communication and organization. Polished appearance

• Availability to travel and a valid US driver’s license

• US work authorization

• Software: AutoCAD, SketchUp [expert level]
  Revit, InDesign, Photoshop [proficient level]

• Experience working with consultants, contractors, and vendors
