Duties: In support of the Firm’s design philosophy and objectives, under the supervision of a Project Architect/Landscape Architect/Planner, the Architectural Designer demonstrates the ability to grasp all technical interrelationships among project disciplines in order to contribute to the design of buildings from early ideas and conceptual work, and to schematic design through to construction. The Architectural Designer will be responsible for developing design concepts and preparing design development and technical construction documents by studying project concept, architectural drawing and modeling. The Architectural Designer provides and uses his/her theoretical and creative background to provide professional design and technical services by studying project sketches, specifications and supporting documents, developing a layout of project and components and illustrating the relationship of project components. The Architectural Designer resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information conferring with Project Architect/Project Landscape Architect/Project Manager or Job Captain as well as with project leaders, managers and consultant expertise. Under the supervision of the Architect, the Architectural Designer performs the following additional duties, modifies drawings by studying changes and redrawing project components; collaborates with planners, landscape architects and interior designers to create large scale projects that go beyond a single building; produces client presentations; collaborates with architects in the development of multiple schemes pending client approval in order to push the design process in a certain direction. Option for one day a week remote work from a home office.
Minimum Qualifications: US bachelor’s degree in architecture and two years’ experience as architectural designer or related. Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Adobe Photoshop, In-Design, Sketch-Up, Grasshopper, Microsoft word, excel and PowerPoint.
