Zervas Architects, an award-winning architectural firm in Bellingham, Washington, is seeking a Project Architect/Project Manager with 6 – 10 years’ experience. The successful candidate will:
Have, at minimum, a professional degree in architecture from an accredited university.
Have 5 to 10 years’ experience working in established architectural firms (preferred but not required).
Licensure in Washington State (preferred).
Have a solid work history including experience in design and construction administration of public, commercial, multi-family and/or single-family custom home projects.
Be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office programs, as well as familiar with Adobe Creative Suite is essential. Strong visual presentation skills and communication skills are also required.
Have a strong background in designing buildings to meet Building and Zoning Codes and other Washington State and/or regional codes and ordinances.
Have experience in the permitting and bid processes.
Have a well-developed understanding of Construction Documents and the ability to review and correct errors in documents without supervision.
Be comfortable with creating design and construction documents for a variety of project types ranging from single family residential to large commercial and institutional buildings.
Have a passion for creative design solutions and problem solving.
Have the ability to interact graciously with clients, handle consultant coordination, and interface with contractors for design intent follow through.
Enjoy working in a team setting, and be excited to share knowledge and ideas with others, and to help others improve their own skills and expertise.
Work quickly, effectively and within project timelines as either a design team member or project manager.
Share strengths, skills and experiences with the team.
Bring a strong work ethic, sense of professionalism, and desire to constantly learn from the Zervas team.

Employee work requirements are based on current workload and may exceed 40 hours a week. This is a salaried position which is based on a 40 hour work-week.

Starting salary will be varied based on the applicant’s past experiences in architecture and/or construction trades, their skillset and abilities.
