Senior Architectural Designer- Restaurant & Hospitality
Flagship Restaurant Group is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Architectural Designer to join our team. The Senior Architectural Designer will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of all architectural projects for our restaurants, ensuring that our spaces reflect our brands and enhance the overall dining experience for our guests.
Compensation Range + Benefits:
$100,000- $115,000 + annual salary, based upon experience. Potential bonuses based on timely project completion.

About the job:
The Senior Architectural Designer will be responsible for the successful start-up, delivery, and timely completion of all architectural and design projects, with a focus on creating immersive experiential environments. You will work closely with Tom Allisma, the President, Architect, and Owner of Flagship Restaurant Group. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Tom in overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of each restaurant within the group. This includes overseeing the execution of projects from conception to completion, including planning, cost estimating, and communicating with owners/department leads throughout the various stages of project development. The designer will bring expertise in creating spaces that engage the senses, and enhance the guest experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for incorporating the latest trends in experiential design into their work.
The Senior Architectural Designer must be able to work in one of our corporate offices in either Omaha, Nebraska, or Phoenix, Arizona. This is not a remote position.
An ideal candidate:
- Has strong leadership qualities, excellent communication & problem-solving skills, and is driven by deadlines
- Is a self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must be available for travel to various projects, with the ability to oversee multiple projects at any given time
- Overview of all construction projects, renovations, and monitoring of all project expenses, as well as making adjustments as needed to stay within budget.
Required Qualifications:
The Senior Architectural Designer must have strong commercial building knowledge, excellent verbal communication, leadership, and project management skills. Additional requirements of this position include:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field
- 10 + years of commercial architecture/design experience with proven success in restaurant design and development process
- Portfolio with 8-10 restaurant designs, and development projects in multiple jurisdictions
- Candidate must provide a portfolio of selected work completed to show both experience and interests
- Proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, Photoshop, and other design software. Procore, Enscape, and Lumion experience a plus
- Solid understanding of core architectural building construction and development; restaurant design/development and building renovations
- Has extensive experience working directly with engineers, owners, project managers, inspectors, landlords, general contractors, construction teams, and other trade-based specialty contractors
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a solid understanding of budgets, schedules, and project constraints
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, be eligible to work in the United States, and be willing to undergo a background check upon request
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain project schedule, working closely with our in-house design and construction division, project engineers, department leads, operations team, and owners.
- Collaborate with our partners at Avroko to promote high-quality design and construction expertise
- Key aspects include project management and execution and monitoring of multiple projects, including the development of new concepts and designs, as well as renovations of existing concepts as necessary.
- Create detailed architectural and design drawings and renderings to specification using AutoCAD, Rivet, and Photoshop as necessary
- Prepare and coordinate permit sets for submission to local building departments and ensure that all drawings and documents comply with codes and regulations
- Coordinate with other consultants, such as structural and mechanical engineers to ensure that designs are feasible and comply with all relevant codes and regulations
- Continuously research and stay current with design trends, materials, and technologies to bring new ideas and perspectives to projects
- Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to plans and specifications
- Uphold communication, coordination, and professional relationships with project inspectors, contractors, engineers, landlords/developers, and city/county officials
- Strong ability to think creatively and critically and ability to meet deadlines
- This role requires in-state and out-of-state travel
