We are a studio practice of planners, architects, exhibit designers and tinkerers who create distinctive places of learning, enrichment, and fun. Since 1997, we have guided our firm to work with mission-driven and non-profit organizations devoted to education, creativity, and community enhancement.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a full-time candidate to work closely with the Haizlip Studio leadership and team on projects ranging from museums to higher education to community parks. Primary responsibilities include:
leading conceptual design and provide full support throughout all project phases;
producing Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction documents;
reviewing shop drawings and submittals; and
making job site visits and reviews.
Required Qualifications:
Architectural degree (preferred)
Current architectural registration OR participation in AXP/ARE process
Eight to ten years of professional architectural experience in all project phases
Proficiency in Revit with ability to produce construction documents
Strong design skills and experience leading the design process
Responsibilities:
Communicating the design rational and recommendations to clients that may have little to no prior experience in the design and construction processes;
Leading and attending client meetings and prepare meeting notes;
Performing Building Code Analysis Summaries;
Performing research on best practices, materials and construction/fabrication methods;
Assisting with business development, including presentations and interviews; and
Maintaining and advancing design and technical standards.
Expectations:
Strong knowledge of building technology, materials, construction techniques and processes with high level of attention to detail;
Experience collaborating effectively with project team members to resolve complex technical and design issues;
Promote firm culture and client relationships to maintain positive interactions; and
Participate and/or lead staff development activities.

Will mentor and lead other team members.
