In this role, you will lead a dedicated team who are specialized in a variety of food & beverage-related project types, closely partnering with national retail clients on projects from ideation, implementation through to rollout. We work side-by-side with clients in a variety of market sectors – including Grocery, Supermarkets, Food Markets, Restaurants & Convenience Stores.
Our Ideal Candidatefor this opportunity is an ambitious, creative leader who is passionate about finding ways to elevate the performance of our clients through creative collaboration, and who is excited about leading the strategic direction, growth, and evolution of our nationally known Supermarkets Retail Studio. We are also looking for someone with the following:
A creative retail background – you understand retail, are familiar with the concept of speed-to-market, prototype design/management, and the drivers that are important to corporate retail clients. You also have a strong commercial retail background as well as retail store design experience.
A deep understanding of the retail development process and terminology and are a recognized thought leader – or have the ability and desire to become one – in the world of retail architecture and design.
Established relationships and contacts in the corporate retail and retail developer markets with proven business relationships and/or development skills.
Outstanding leadership – you are an empathetic and active listener, genuinely interested in people, and able to build followership among teammates and clients alike, providing motivation and encouragement
Great communication skills – whether verbally or in written form, people understand your ideas, and the way you share them; you are a creative problem solver; and
A passion for growing and retaining talent – the people who work with you feel you have their best interests at heart, you are invested in their careers and you are resourceful.
Minimum Qualifications:
Professional Registration or Certification is required in the person’s discipline (eg. AIA or NCIDQ).
10 years of experience in the architecture and design industry; at least 5 of those years should be in the role of leading other team members.
A strong work ethic with significant experience in grocery & supermarket rollout/program retail is required; preferably with other food-related project experience.
Experience as an account or client manager, responsible for the financial management of an account or body of work.
