Senior Interior Designer
This position requires a talented Interior Designer who brings a creative sense of interiors for a range of owner and user needs and an understanding of the process to achieve the sense of place, and the spatial qualities that reflect the mission or self-image of the daily occupants. Within the firm, possess the capabilities cultivate team commitment and leadership, and have direct participation in design, document production, construction administration, and CA services (Komatsu project team participants follow projects from Programming through Construction Completion, as we are not compartmented into separate project delivery functions). Our Interiors Group Studio is essential in providing support in programming, interior architecture and comprehensive interior design services. Client and consultant direct coordination responsibilities does require a respectable business demeanor, people and communication skills. LEED accredited profession and/or PMP certification not required but are considered a plus.
Requirements for position:
Licensed/certified with Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design/Architecture. A Master’s Degree in Interior Design/Architecture is a plus, but not essential
Technical skills in Revit and AutoCAD
15+ years of experience preferred
Previous experience in interiors/architectural project management of complex new construction and/or rehabilitation (special projects category – repurpose and new facility components) including development of all phases of planning (including master programming plans, programming, design, construction documents (furniture specifications capability a plus), bidding, and contract administration, including clear communication skills with clients, consultants, and contractors
Experience with the public review process, regulatory agencies
Knowledge of building and life safety codes
Ability to review and edit technical specifications is a plus
Must be able to prepare a variety of studies and reports, including, but not limited to: existing conditions assessments; feasibility studies; code analysis (with in-house architects or code consultants)
