The Director of Design champions innovative, high performance design in complex projects, and overall design excellence of the healthcare practice. This leader serves as an organizational spokesperson responsible for positioning the company as a leader in its field through best-in-class content. This role is a trusted leading expert for program delivery collaborating across all ERDMAN disciplines, guiding initial design concepts and ideas from pursuit and selection through project completion.
Design Expertise: Develops highly innovative, creative, integrated and effective design solutions. Possesses an established design reputation evident through design awards, publications, education or other venues, and positive client references. Direct oversight of design standards and design presentation possessing a thorough knowledge of architecture practice with emphasis on design, building materials, construction methods, integration of disciplines, and building codes.
Business Development: ?Serves as an industry advisor and resource in the development of proposals and facilitating charettes to position the company and client for growth and profitability. Partners closely with ERDMAN's business development thought leaders and design teams to develop and execute solutions.? ?
Client Relationships: Engages clients by helping them understand the industry in client terms with different types of business content. Identifies client challenges and defines solutions that associate the brand with industry insight and authority. Cultivates relationships to expand references, referrals, and revenue.
Speaking Engagements, Networking and Design Competitions: Subject matter expert at speaking engagements, and networking events demonstrating a strong presence highlighting industry expertise, sharing knowledge, and providing valuable information to clients and industry colleagues.?Active in local, national or international professional design related organizations.
Proven Leader: Develops and uses constructive leadership styles to achieve results, innovation, growth, and fulfilment of team members. Teaches and trains designers and integrated project teams in the essentials of ERDMAN's design excellence. Effective in mentoring and developing junior design staff, challenging, inspiring and motivating others to join in the constant pursuit of design excellence. Identifies, attracts, and retains key design staff, and will be responsible for targeting and developing strategies for hiring senior and junior design talent.
15 years' experience functioning as lead Healthcare Planner, Project Manager or Project Designer on a variety of healthcare projects of scale and complexity
15 years' team leadership experience and mentoring skills.
Experience with oncology preferred.
Proven track record of winning project pursuits and maintaining strong client relationships.
Excellent writing and communication skills; highly skilled with making client presentations.
Ability to maintain a constant focus on industry, client,?and competitive trends in the healthcare provider?and senior living industries,?and ability to?apply this knowledge to both active client engagements and business/client development activities.?
Proven ability to communicate effectively and persuasively to the public, potential clients, current clients, and industry professionals regarding the Company's business model and services.?
