We seek to hire a driven technologist with strong strategic thinking, and tactical execution capabilities. You will be an integral part of CNCPT Collaborative, a team that advances the use of practice technology at Clark Nexsen. As a part of this team, you will be exposed to an ecosystem of digital technologies and tools, including emerging technologies. This Practice Technology Specialist position requires expert level pro?ciency in BIM authoring and coordination software, with a primary focus on Revit. You will elevate and maximize the potential of BIM by supporting project teams in using this data for computation, visualization, simulations, and analytics. You will advise project architects and managers and guide project teams on best practices through the lifecycle of a project. The Practice Technology Specialist will participate in strategic and long-term development of practice technology. This is a multifaceted position that includes strategy, research and development, technical project support, training, and providing leadership on implementation of technology.
General responsibilities are include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in efforts to develop and maintain plans for implementing technologies utilized by the ?rm
- Assist project teams with Model Management and project delivery
- Coach and support individuals, and project teams on modeling and delivery methodologies and best practices.
- Research, test, develop, standardize new Practice Technology tools to help keep Clark Nexsen at the leading edge
- Engage with project teams for limited engagements on project specific work
- BIM Content Management – maintain, create, curate, standardize, and disseminate Revit families, standard details
- Develop and maintain project specific BIM content
- Understand and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, implementation of best practices through involvement in BIM committees, and technology champions.
- Support development and compliance with the approved BIM Execution and BIM Scope Plan
- Integrate and support Design Technology tools, work?ows, and processes with project teams
- Coordinate and / or lead Practice Technology related training, participate in new employees’ orientation, make presentations to staff
- Assist in maintaining and creating firm-wide documentation, procedures, and standards
- Possess current knowledge of Practice Technology best practices, firmwide standards and expectations for design excellence at a multi-disciplinary firm.
- Meetings with clients, contractors, consultants
- Running clash detection on multi-disciplinary projects
Education, Technology, and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent desired by not required
- 5+ years of professional experience
- Previous experience in a Practice Technology management
- A clear and articulate communicator with ability to convey Practice Technology concepts to all levels of design and delivery professionals
- Experience working in architecture, engineering, or related industries, with detailed knowledge of project processes, milestones, and deliverables
- Expert Knowledge of and practical experience in AEC authoring and management applications including Autodesk (Revit, Navisworks Manage, BIM 360), Rhino. Familiarity with their API interfaces is a plus
- Experience in implementing and supporting design collaboration platforms such as design authoring tools in a virtual environment, Panzura collaboration, AEC cloud-based products such as Autodesk BIM 360, Docs
- Familiarity with visualization applications such as Enscape, Twinmotion, Lumion
- Ability and experience in producing quality construction documents, solid understanding of building detailing, construction principles and practices
- Familiarity with environmental analysis applications such as Climate Studio, Sefaira, Insight360, Lady Bug/Honeybee, WUFI, and IES is a plus

- Self-starter with ability to manage time and operate with some degree of autonomy
- Ability to proactively problem solve and apply innovative solutions
- Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality
- Familiarity with data and data viz tools like Power bi and Excel a plus
- Ability to think computationally and seek opportunities to automate processes
Physical Requirements
Work is sedentary and often performed in an office setting. Work area is lighted, heated, and ventilated.
