StudioGC architecture + interiors is looking for a technical architect/senior specification writer. The Technical Architect/Senior Specification Writer will work with project architects and designers to provide technical advice through various project phases from DD through CD.

Main Responsibilities Include

• Writes and edits project specifications, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
• Performs product research; assists project designers with material selection and system research.
• Provides continual development and improvement of StudioGC’s Master Specifications.
• Provides quality management reviews and technical advice in design development through construction document phases.

• Well versed in the use of e-specs or other specification production and management software.
• Skilled in analytical thinking to support the design process.
• Self-motivated individual able to work well in a collaborative office environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, deadlines and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
• Proven knowledge of architectural design, engineering coordination, building material and systems, products, and trends.
• Proven knowledge of construction procedures and schedules.
• Proven knowledge of building envelope components and material requirements of public, private and department of defense and commercial building and facility types.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, architectural engineering, engineering, or construction management.
• 5+ years of specifications writing and editing experience.
• Licensed architect and/or CCS certification a plus.
