Role

We’re seeking a creative, energetic and self-motivated Project Architect to join our Reno/Tahoe, Nevada studio, where you’ll be responsible for the development of creative design solutions, technical drawings, providing technical knowledge to solve design and construction issues, communicating priorities to both internal and external project teams, and assisting the Project Manager in implementing the project work plan.

What You’ll Do  

• Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s needs
• Develop & provide leadership in all phases of projects, including programming, consulting, strategy, conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction administration
• Ensure client satisfaction through ongoing communication, interaction and guidance; represent TSK at client meetings and presentations; communicate complex design concepts
• Lead, develop, and mentor architectural design teams

Required Qualifications:

• Licensed Architect with NCARB accredited degree in architecture
• Proven experience running projects and ability to manage and communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with the AE team and owner
• Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in design, technical detailing and coordination of documents in all phases of architectural practice
• Experience utilizing BIM technologies, specifically Autodesk Revit, in the development of three dimensional building models and documentation for construction
• Experience coordinating projects with team members, government agencies, and consultants
• Passionate about design excellence, construction, and sustainable design

Preferred Qualities

• Strong design skills
• Architectural experience in education, civic, judicial and commercial facilities from conceptual design through construction
• Digital graphic skills and conceptual modeling capabilities in Sketchup, Rhino, Adobe Suite, etc.
• Specific knowledge of Type I, II, & III construction and detailing
• Familiarity with DSA desirable
