We are seeking a Senior Architect with design and technical expertise for the department of Design+Construction (D+C), as part of the MSK Design team.

You will:

• Work with and support the Chief Architect
• Independently lead specialty projects
• Visit and review project construction sites for compliance to MSK guides and guidelines
• Facilitate weekly MSK design reviews, reviewing phase document sets and submittals
• Develop project sketches/drawings
• Assist to develop and implement the future framework as new standard for D+C Library of BIM Models; update Dept Policies including various Guidelines/Standards, etc
• Daily responsibilities will be to manage, catalogue and coordinate a comprehensive Archive Library
• Handle and issue Architectural/Engineering drawings, and associated documents

You are:

• Able to proficiently read and understand all the types of architectural/engineering drawings, shop drawings, specifications, etc.; plus, possess technical expertise in a variety of computer-based systems and software, including multimedia and content management programs
• Knowledgeable of New York City Department of Buildings’ and Board of Standards and Appeals’ filing processes
• Knowledgeable of FGI and ADA Guidelines, Building and Health Codes, etc.
• Highly organized and analytical, self-motivated; excellent in time management, focused and attentive to detail; able to work well with others; willing to learn and to be challenged; independent and quick in adapting to situations; a team player; forward-thinking and a problem solver
• Emotionally intelligent, an expert professional able to manage the pressures of a fast-paced work environment where priorities may shift at any time, while supporting specified goals and objectives; effectively communicate and actively collaborate with internal teams and externally with consultants and clients through timely and appropriate written, oral and visual means to complete work you're leading and/or projects.

You need:

• Accredited degree in Architecture/Engineering or related field
• To be a Licensed Architect with current registration in New York, is preferred
• A minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience as an Architect
• Experience as an Architect independently leading projects
• Knowledge and sophisticated proficiency in CAD/BIM from experience working in Architectural firm, is preferred
• Experience with digital archiving/cataloging architectural documents
• Healthcare experience in facilities management, is a differentiator
• Accreditation as a USGBC LEED Professional is preferred
• Strong proficiency in the following software: BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), Newforma, etc.; knowledge of Smarsheet is a bonus
