The Manager of Architecture will encourage the continued development of all architectural services including planning, design, technical documentation, production and materials documentation, cost effectiveness and client service. The Manager of Architecture will collaborate with other group leaders to effectively allocate resources and support all quality related initiatives.
Essential Job Functions:
Coordinate project work and requirements with Project Managers and other discipline and corporate departments.
Assist in the development and monitoring of the firm's architectural standards, policy and procedures and support all of the firm’s ISO and Six Sigma initiatives.
Coordinate the overall quality, management and staffing of the architectural group. Ensure high morale, determine staffing needs and assist in decisions regarding hiring and dismissals.
See that satisfactory relationships are maintained with clients, consultants and other vested interests. Participate in the evolution of the firm's marketing plan.
Assist business development, marketing, and other teams in responding to new business opportunities, including the preparation of proposals and participating in presentations. Assist in developing new group competencies to support target markets.
Understand and manage the group in a financially responsible manner. Review and act on financial management and operating statistics relevant to the group.
Be aware of and effectively apply technology to achieve consistent and efficient production of high quality projects. Identify candidates and seek out appropriate training to constantly improve that department's technical capabilities.
Lead the group in weekly/bi-weekly architects’ meetings to foster professional dialog and share project development across offices and geographic locations.
Review and approve time cards, paid time-off requests, leave of absences, continuing education programs, etc.
Foster development of employee’s competencies; take an active role in employee career development. Document training needs and plans for development. Encourage and support licensing and on-going education.
Conduct performance and salary reviews and handle all performance improvement situations professionally and promptly.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Participate in professional organizations such as AIA and ULI.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering; Master’s preferred
15+ years related architecture experience with progressively more responsibilities, including supervisory duties
5+ years leadership experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam
Project management and supervisory skills required
