BLRB Architects is a regional architecture firm with four offices throughout Washington and Oregon, and we’re looking for a licensed, experienced design professional to join our Portland team.

We are a company of 60 team members and our primary practice emphasis is on planning and design for education, multi-family housing, commercial and civic projects. We employ a collaborative planning and design approach both within and outside the firm and value the participation and input of diverse team member voices.
A Little About This Position
We’re looking for a creative, organized, and team-oriented design professional with an interest in firm leadership to join our Portland office. Our Portland team has a strong portfolio in educational architecture and we are thoughtfully diversifying our project emphasis in the metropolitan market to include housing, civic and commercial commissions in collaboration with our Bend, Oregon team. Typical project values in Portland range from $10-$60M in construction value. An impending team member retirement has created the opportunity for us to offer this position.
A Little About You
If you’re an experienced architect, interior designer or project manager who is looking for a leadership opportunity and/or the opportunity to grow to a position of leadership in a mid-size, regional architectural practice, then we’d really like to meet you. The most successful candidates for this position will:
Have a professional design degree or accreditation from an accredited institution
Be licensed in the State of Oregon, or be NCARB certified with the ability to become licensed in Oregon
Have 10-15+ years of experience working in a firm environment as a design professional and/or project manager, with demonstrable success leading and managing project teams, market sectors, client relationships and business development
Have experience developing and leading teams for complex new, replacement, modernization and addition projects over $20 million in construction value
Be self-motivated, well-organized, a good communicator and work effectively as a leader and mentor
Be comfortable and effective making presentations to clients, prospective clients, stakeholder groups and agency review staff.
Be proactive in business development and marketing for retaining existing clients and creating new client leads”.
Specific experience with education projects and LEED accreditation are highly desirable
