The New York City School Construction Authority (NYCSCA) builds and renovates public schools throughout all of the boroughs. We believe that schools should be efficiently designed and constructed; they should be safe, attractive and environmentally sound. The SCA’s responsibilities span the life of each project (new schools, additions, and capital improvements to existing schools) from planning, real estate, budgeting, scoping, and designing, to construction completion.
We have an excellent career opportunities for an Expediter for our Building Code Compliance Division. The Expediter is responsible for performing a wide range of technical and administrative tasks in a variety of assignments related to the review of New York City permits.
Review documents submitted for City required building and other permits for completeness and accuracy. Aid permit applicants in completing the filing procedure with various City agencies. Delivers documents to various city agencies for data entry, review and/or approval. May assist Plan Examiners in reviewing documents for City Building Code and Zoning compliance. Researches existing building status from City records at various agencies.
High school diploma or its educational equivalent. Three years of full time experience performing: construction document review, zoning Compliance, filing and facilitating permit approval and researching property status or a satisfactory combination of education and experience.

With less than two years of active City or SCA service salary range: $50,277 - $71,038
With two or more years of active and continuous City or SCA service salary range: $57,818 - $81,694
