The Internal Services Department (ISD) provides a wide range of internal support services for the ongoing operation of County government. ISD supports governmental operations by providing a wide variety of essential services to County departments including: countywide procurement and vendor services, capital program management, construction and renovation management, facility management, surplus property disposition, fleet management, risk management, capital inventory administration, small business development, real estate development, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, elevator regulation and elevator contract management, materials management, printing services, and parking services. ISD serves a wide range of internal and external customers and stakeholders including County departments and employees, municipalities, the business community, and Miami-Dade County residents and visitors.
This position reports to the Manager, Architectural & Engineering Services of the Facilities & Infrastructure Management Division (FIMD) in the Internal Services department. Employees in this classification are directly responsible for development and management of complex renovation projects, interior design, and space planning projects for newly constructed and renovated county buildings. Responsibilities include participating in the planning of interior construction, interior design, finishes and furnishings, preparation of specifications for interior treatments including acquirement: bidding process, processing of requisitions, and project supervision to assure proper delivery, construction or installation previously specified. Incumbents exercise considerable independent judgment and technical expertise in the management of interior design projects and in advising departmental officials on interior design concepts, quality and costs. Supervision is received from a professional superior who reviews work through conferences and reports for attainment of objectives during the various phases of the interior design process.
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field. Two years of commercial interior design experience are required.
