As Project/Drafting Lead you will have a focused opportunity to affect the success of any given project and implementation of our firm’s mission. Responsibilities of this role range across the entire realm of architectural practice including, but not limited to, programming, design, research, construction document development and preparation and construction administration, as well as, coordination with and management of design team consultants and could include client interaction and management on a broad range of project types of varied scope.
Develops and documents architectural building systems and design details.
Collaborates on selections of materials, colors and finishes.
Coordinates information required for the execution of project specifications.
Initiate and monitor QA/QC procedures to assure completeness and accuracy of documents and coordination with other disciplines during all phases of project development and implementation.
Ensure detailed review of final drawings and specifications.
Obtains PIC review and signature on drawings.
Communicate clearly in verbal, written, and drawing form
Proven ability to meet deadlines

Ability to communicate with consultants, building specialists, government officials and product suppliers.
Experience in acting as the liaison with consultants and individuals outside the firm with responsibility for technical matters pertaining to architectural projects.
Be able to build the spirit of teamwork within Cotton and each architectural project with all involved personnel: PIC, PM, Architects, Designers, Job Captains, Drafters, Support Staff and all other Staff.
Supervise and direct individuals on staff in their assignments and encourage having fun even when the work is hard.
Ability to take responsibility for project production process including organization, execution and coordination of those projects.
Be able to provide leadership and direction for the establishment of project production standards and to self-direct, self-control and self-monitor all activities on assigned projects.
Be responsible for the efficient development of multiple projects varying in size and complexity.
Showcase a proven understanding of construction detailing.
Be responsible for accuracy and completeness of construction documents and coordination with other disciplines.
Interact with all project stakeholders in a professional manner.
Be a responsible and integral part of projects from initiation to construction and closeout.
Assist in coordinating and satisfying jurisdictional requirements.
Manage the quality and timeliness of the execution of the work
Responsible for overall production related efforts and for coordination of assigned projects with design team consultants for all phases of a project.
Leading the production team members and maintaining esprit d’corps.
Oversee the quality and timeliness of the execution of the work and maintaining design team rapport and satisfaction.
Assists the PIC / PM in defining the scope of work, developing fees and man-hour projections, and reviewing or writing contracts with clients and consultants for design services.
Fully preserves the firm’s position in the marketplace by protecting the firm liability exposure possible in all tasks undertaken in this role.
Ensures initiation and maintenance of project logs, notebooks, and files.
Arranges quality assurance reviews at appropriate stages in the development of the project documentation.
Responsible for day-to-day communications with consultants, and government agencies; involves the PIC / PM when necessary.
Makes appearances before client groups, the building department, other government agencies, etc. as required to advance the project towards construction and eventual occupancy.
