The Project Manager, Architect leads and manages the process to design and develop space programs, budgets, schedules, concepts, and schematic designs. Participates in a variety of projects ranging from capital expenditure projects, to facility expansions, and new facility development. Helps develop and maintain design standards. Coordinates project designs with internal user groups, outside Architect consultants, and budgets and schedules. Works with internal stakeholders and outside consultants in the design and construction of all project sizes ($50K to $100 million project cost). ?Reviews, evaluates, and approves all physical plant modification and improvements requested from the field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Reviews physical plant modification and improvement requests from facilities. Verifies code and security compliance, and coordinates information with FSC subject matter experts as needed. ?Makes recommendations, proposes alternate solutions, and approves requests as appropriate. •Leads design meetings with user groups, architects, contractors and consultant(s) as appropriate. •Applies sound and diversified knowledge of architectural principals to projects. •Implements and applies design standards during the preparation of design and construction documents to maintain the design intent. •Maintains the design standards library. •Manages the progress of the project with regard to code, adhering to design standards, scope, schedule and budget. •Participates in continuing education programs to maintain competency in current and changing codes, technologies, materials and procedures. •Works with internal stakeholders and outside consultants in the design and construction of all project sizes from renovations to large green field projects. ? •Domestic U.S. travel may be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: •Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. •Three years of experience as a Project Architect. •Licensure to practice in the state of Tennessee (or ability to acquire Tennessee license) and NCARB certification. •Working knowledge of current edition IBC, NFPA and ADA codes/standards. •Significant LEED, BIM and CADD experience. •Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications. •Travel is required. •A valid driver’s license is required.
