The College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) at Kent State University is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Interior Design program with primary expertise in design and design pedagogy. Secondary expertise may be in digital techniques and/or making, building systems, sustainability, lighting and/or acoustics. Other areas of research expertise related to interior design may be considered.
Candidates will be expected to engage in an active agenda of research, scholarship and/or creative work highlighted by peer-reviewed publications and/or peer-recognized exhibitions and/or built projects. The position will require classroom and/or online teaching and conduct research and/or scholarship in their area of expertise. Teaching responsibilities will include instruction in studio, seminar, and lecture settings within the Interior Design program. The position may also involve the use of digital software such as Rhino, Revit, Adobe CC, and digital fabrication applications.

Additional Salary Information: The position is a nine-month appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary is competitive and negotiable. The anticipated starting date is August, 2020.
