LICENSED DESIGN PROFESSIONAL AND PROJECT MANAGER

POSARD BROEK + ASSOCIATES, an architecture and project management firm located in Marin County, specializing in the evaluation of design and construction projects, project management and remedial repair is seeking a Licensed Design Professional and Project Manager, preferably with remedial design, forensic and construction management experience. A minimum of 15 years’ experience is preferred. The position requires experience with construction and project management for Type V, wood framed construction, Type I & II construction, (mixed use, resort and public assembly) with an emphasis on building evaluation, estimating and remedial repairs. Hotel experience is a plus, as well as a thorough understanding of contracts, estimating, construction documents and construction administration.

Responsibilities Assembles and manages appropriate project team Provides expert testimony and conducts project related meetings and presentations Researches structure history, technical issues, and code issues Plans and mobilizes for site inspection/investigation Designs repair details Prepares drawings and specifications and prepare final project manual. Prepares bid documents, addenda, change orders, draft investigation reports, and other work product Conducts on-site inspection/investigation including survey and documentation of distress, complete field testing, remove samples, take photographs, make sketches and etc. Conducts on-site observations of work in progress Analyzes research and investigation data and develop alternate schemes for solving problems Monitors and/or conducts laboratory testing Attends field meetings and prepare site observation reports Performs tasks to support office function Involvement in professional organization, authors papers, attends conferences and performs work on technical committee Qualifications Master’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering with a minimum of six years of experience with an architectural or architectural/engineering firm; or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering with nine years of experience with an architectural or architectural/engineering firm Registration as an Architect in California is preferred Experience in managing small, medium and large-sized projects Active in professional organizations Strong technical skills Strong written and oral communication skills Strong computer skills including CADD and Microsoft Office Independent thinker Team player Innovative Organized Willingness to work in the field Ability to work stationary scaffolding and ladders Ability to travel outside local area, depending on local work load and project locations *We do not offer relocation costs |
