Our Sr. Architect opportunity is a key leadership role on our small but nimble team, whose works and results create substantial, tangible impact, on multiple levels affecting our people and business. This role utilizes a diverse knowledge of advanced techniques, architectural principles and best practices to design our new TEC Equipment dealerships and facilities.
We are experiencing rapid growth, and this position will work closely with the Director of Business Development to bring projects to life from preliminary design phases through final occupancy, on buildings that range in size from 5,000 square feet to 200,000 square feet.
Key Areas of Responsibility include:
Developing detailed construction documents for offices, retail sales, service areas, and parts storage areas.
Developing project design schedules to assist the Director of Business Development in developing project delivery dates.
Working in conjunction with construction team members to provide construction administration and modifications to project designs prior to and during the construction phase.

Essential Job Functions:
Assign and manage all design projects, and direct staff to ensure onto delivery of land use, permit, and construction documents.
Maintain knowledge state and federal code compliance requirements specified in the state specific code amendments to the IBC and the associated fire and mechanical codes.
Coordinate consultants and their drawings for submittal to local and state building officials for permitting.
Assist Director in feasibility studies as they relate to site development conditions and zoning restrictions prior to purchase.
Assist Director in preparing land use documents for jurisdictional approval.
Develop preliminary design development drawings and coordinate with outside design consultants.
Create and stamp permit drawings and establish a submittal process for coordination of Permit drawings as the design team’s primary point of contact.
Ensure approved construction drawings and associated ASI’s are issued prior to start of work.
Manage the RFI, ASI, and COR’s issued during the project construction phases and coordinate with the site supervisor to ensure on time distribution, modifications, or changes to the construction drawings.
Manage all design folders and materials within a cloud based server so that staff and contributors can collaborate and function as a team.
Essential Job Requirements:
Accredited degree in Architecture from a NCARB certified program, or an Engineering degree from an accredited engineering program
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience working with different building and occupancy types (Commercial & Industrial construction required), and experience working on Mixed Use Commercial projects
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of prefabricated metal building procedures and design practices
Knowledge of Design Build and CMGC construction methods
Knowledge of advanced techniques and modification/extension of theories, precepts, and practices within field
Understanding of structures - mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.
Expert in Autodesk products, and proficient in Office products and Design based programs like SketchUp, Bluebeam, Revit, etc.
Skilled in project management of design phase and proficient in managing project folders within a cloud based server environment.
Ability to lead diversified team of professionals
Ability to work on multiple projects with different consultants with varying deadlines within the design phase; effectively manage consultant relationships
Ability to take the initiative and produce with little direction (self-driven and autonomous)
Ability to work in and direct workflow within a fast-paced, high energy environment
Ability to navigate ambiguous environments and change
Experience working with large pre-manufactured steel building suppliers and advanced knowledge of commercial glazing and metal panel systems.
Architecture and or Engineering licensing in California, Oregon, or Washington
Physical & Mental Requirements/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others. Sometimes required to move about inside and outside office. Often required to operate and use computer and other office equipment. Frequently required to perform tasks such as inspection. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
