This position supports a range of leasing and operational support needs by providing quality CAD services to University stakeholders and commercial tenants on a uniquely diverse portfolio of real estate. This position reports to the Manager - HRE Systems and University Leasing and works in close collaboration with the Director of Real Estate Advisory Services and the HRE Managing Director to provide a wide variety of CAD and related space planning services. They provide vision and determine need for the application of architectural services to support the real estate business of the portfolio. The manager maintains awareness of emerging CAD related technologies and proficiency in core business technologies. He/she also collaborates with other Harvard CAD/GIS groups, as appropriate, to improve and maximize overall service and efficiency. This position manages a dynamic workload with priorities identified by portfolio directors and client representatives both directly and through their manager.
Leasing & Space Planning
Maintain accurate floor plans with tenant space assignments
Calculate RSF and building factors
Verify code compliance for all tenant improvement projects
Provide test fits and space configurations (including furniture) as requested
Support the evaluation of new leased spaces
Facility Management & Operations
Work with Property Managers and EH&S to maintain accurate Evacuation Plans
Develop and maintain Emergency Shut off Plans and MEP Plans as necessary.
Provide support and plans for operational projects as needed.
Document & Data Management
Maintain accuracy of existing floor plans for HRE use
Integrate all space modifications in the University Space Information System.
Coordination with Harvard Planning office to ensure compliance with University standards
Basic Qualifications Requirements: Minimum three to five years of professional experience in space planning, drafting, and/or using CAFM software (Centerstone or like applications). Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP construction drawings. Knowledge of BOMA space standards. Appropriate hardware and software skills (AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator and MS Office.)
BA/BS with concentration in architecture, facilities engineering, or related field is preferred. Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
Additional Information The mission of Harvard Real Estate (HRE) is to provide exemplary real estate stewardship and services to the University, including leasing, space planning, acquisitions/dispositions, property management, asset management, due diligence and real estate advisory services. HRE is directly responsible for the stewardship of 94 diverse buildings with 3.4M square feet in Boston, Allston, Shrewsbury and Kittery, ME. In addition, HRE provides office/retail lease management for an additional 600K square feet and oversees ~40 acres of undeveloped land. HRE also provides specialized real estate advisory services, primarily in the realm of leasing and space planning to support and complement real estate activities undertaken by other Harvard businesses and schools.
