The preferred candidate will have an interest in working in a dynamic and collaborative global design environment with a diverse range of public assembly building types; including the design of sports venues, convention centers, community buildings and transportation facilities.
We are seeking a passionate, engaged, and technically proficient Cost Estimator to join us in a dynamic and collaborative design atmosphere. Applicants must possess exceptional and technical abilities.
Collaborates with design team to address scope, schedule and budget.
Analyzes construction models, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, material, equipment, and labor estimates involved in assigned products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes.
Provides preliminary estimates for planning purposes and detailed itemized estimates based on final plans and specifications.
Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and develops itemized lists.
Performs quantity survey of materials shown on project plans.
Reads and outlines project specifications.
Maintains an audit trail of the quantity survey from estimate to estimate.
Solicits vendor/subcontractor pricing/bid solicitation and coordination.
Supports the distribution of plans and specifications to vendors/subcontractors.
Works collaboratively and creates relationships with a variety of stakeholders, such as project team members, subcontractors, vendors and clients.
Gains self-perform estimating experience.
Gains field operational exposure through onsite project support, as opportunities exist.
Ability to prepare price scoping documents.
Prepares components of more complex cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals.
Prepares material costs summary for quotes from vendors.
Assists with tracking value creation items from development through inclusion and documents in project documentation.
Develops scopes of work for specific trades and receives and analyzes subcontractor/vendor pricing. Provides on-the-job guidance to coworkers and willingly shares subject matter expertise in order to support team member learning and development.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
Communication skills, verbal and written.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in construction estimating software.
Proficiency in required construction technology.
Proficiency in Revit.
Proficiency in Navisworks.
Knowledge of the means and methods of construction management.
Ability to prepare quantity surveys.
Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work.
Knowledge of Lean process and philosophy.
Scheduling and cost estimating experience.
Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or architecture (Preferred).
In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
2+ years construction experience (Preferred).
2+ years estimating experience (Required).
