We are currently seeking a PLANNER I/II to join our IRVINE, CA office.
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for developing design or technical solutions under general supervision. Working hand-in-hand with staff, they will perform initial design concepts, compile statistical information, and prepare presentation graphics and submittal packages. The position is commensurate with candidate’s experience.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND:
Graduate of a NAAB accredited 4 or 5 year architecture school with a degree in Urban Design/Urban Planning, Architecture, and/or equivalent
2+ years’ experience in related urban design, urban planning or architecture
General knowledge of land use planning, with an emphasis on residential, also including retail, commercial and mixed-use developments
Knowledge of urban planning, zoning and policy with the ability to work on various scales of projects, from infill to large-scale master planning
Assist in the development and collaboration on conceptual and schematic designs for urban design and master planning projects
Creative collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, from concept through presentation
Experience in 3D building massing and conceptualization
Strong visualization skills to express design both in plan and 3D
Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work in a team environments with other design professionals
Strong verbal and graphic communication, with abilities to communicate ideas and general planning concepts and presentation materials
Strong skills and talent in SketchUp modeling, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and preparation of presentation materials
Assist in presentations and production of urban design and master planning projects
Assist in the documentation and presentation materials that communicate the design process and concepts
Excellent problem solver and independent thinker with good listening skills and strong follow-through
Self-motivated; ability to work independently and in a team environment
