The Illinois Department of Public Health, Office of Health Care Regulation has an opening for an Architect within the Division of Life Safety and Construction/Design and Construction Section. The qualified individual performs highly specialized architectural duties and is responsible for conducting onsite life safety code and physical environment inspections of Illinois licensed healthcare facilities within the Peoria geographic area. The individual will prepare and submit a standardized inspection report, detailing the findings of each inspection. This position is in the IDPH Peoria Regional Office.
This position requires a bachelor’s degrees in architecture. Requires two years progressively responsible professional experience in architecture. Requires a license to practice architecture in the State of Illinois. Requires possession of a valid Illinois driver’s license. Requires the ability to travel. Requires the physical ability to climb stair and ladders, walk, stand and stoop with periods of rest and fully access construction sites. Requires completion of the Certified Fire Inspector One certification program and a Life Safety Code Surveyor certification program within 24 months of hire.
No relocation costs will be paid
The current salary range for this position is $5,441 - $8,318/per month
