The Corporate Architectural Consultant is charged with developing long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with key architects, designers, and their industry organizations to generate a preference for Pella’s product portfolio leading to a measured increase in project leads, project specifications favorable to Pella, and high volume sales growth. This person will manage key business relationships primarily through customer-facing activities with a particular focus on the architectural design community. Direct experience in the field of architecture and/or extensive architectural sales experience is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills as well as a strong technical aptitude are required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supports the Director of Architectural Business Development in the execution of the broader architectural sales stragegy at Pella.
Coordinate, promote and advance the visibility and presence of the entire Pella product and services offering and within the architecture and design community.
Actively pursues new architect and designer account prospects as well as project leads on a weekly basis.
Possess in depth knowledge of architectural and design concepts, construction practices and building codes
Able to effectively present Pella product demonstrations, and continuing education courses.
Able to accurately read, interpret and take-off blueprints.
Possess a working knowledge of advanced window and door installation systems and processes
Has a working knowledge of building science concepts common to the architecture and design community
Actively be involved in AIA, CSI, and other relevant industry associations and events
Utilizes assigned lead services and CRM to collect and manage account and project information (leads, activities, project information, etc.).
Coordinate project quoting and project management within the Pella OA/OF systems
Utilize CRM to manage the entire sales process (accounts, projects, contacts, activities)
Represents the organization at all times in a professional, competent manner, in keeping with the high ethical and cultural standards of the organization.
Responsible for their personal development and career development
Collaborate with all team members in support of Pella’s corporate culture
Must be prepared to travel as required by the job and to work appropriate hours (50-75% travel required). May be required to work weekends and evenings at specific times of the year.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA is a plus. Experience in architectural / customer-facing activities such as sales, distribution, and merchandising will also be critical for success.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial reports, legal documents, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to understand financial mathematical models and apply to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to negotiate effectively may be needed from time to time.
