Manage their Team (often consisting of CAD technicians, graduate architects, and architects) in an effective and profitable manner. Management of the Team would be in such a fashion to build the capabilities of the staff of the Team and encourage their growth within the firm.
Produce deliverables (project conceptual designs, schematic designs and design development, contract documents, etc) for the clients. The PA would be responsible for developing and continually updating the following for all of their team’s projects:
Fee Status Reports for their projects.
All deliverables shall be produced in a professional and thorough form and manner.
Development of quality deliverables to a level of detail and completeness that maximizes the firm’s success on every project.
Excellent communication with the project team and client
Provide management of project activities through organized project scheduling and coordination of all parties involved in projects.
Provide guidance to staff members on professional and technical issues on a continuous basis.
Participate in client interviews and business development related activities. Prepare project proposals in coordination with the Business Development team’s efforts outlining services to be provided, scope of project and fees associated with the services and scope.
Prepare AIA Agreements of various types for orderly and professional contractual relationships with clients and consultants.
Conduct client interviews to determine programmatic needs and develop space programs from observations, interviews, notes, etc. for projects ranging from small to very large projects.
Prepare conceptual designs that illustrate the organization of a project solution in plan, elevation and 3D and prepare conceptual design presentation packages for use in client presentations.
Prepare schematic design presentation packages for use in client presentations, construction team pricing and as the basis for design development commencement.
Prepare design development packages for use by the entire project team in development of construction documents.
Prepare construction documents that demonstrate the architect's abilities and broad understanding of all building systems. The architect must conduct self-directed research to investigate aspects of building materials, building processes, construction means and methods, etc. in which they do not demonstrate proficiency.
Perform project bidding and negotiation sessions with construction team members.
Perform construction administration responsibilities or be able to assist the construction administrator on projects ranging from field observations, project meeting participation, RFI's, Applications and Certificates for Payment reviews and processing, punch lists, project close out activities, etc.
A minimum of 5 years experience practicing as a registered architect is required.
