SOM’s Graphics + Branding Studio is a collaborative team of designers, that engages with a wide variety of clients on projects of all sizes. We strive to help our clients tell their unique stories effectively through the built environment via graphic design elements closely linked to the architectural expression. The result of the studio’s work often strengthens a project’s character, while capturing our client’s strategic goals and core attributes of their brand. SOM seeks a highly talented designer with at least 7 years of experience for our award-winning Graphics and Branding Studio. The designer should enjoy working in a collaborative environment on a variety of projects for prestigious cultural, civic, and commercial clients, as well as internal efforts. In this position the designer may develop branding, identity, environmental graphics, and experiential programs from planning phases through technical production under the design direction of the Studio Leader. This position may also require the creation of marketing materials that reflect the SOM brand. Because of this variety, you should have the ability to work independently as well the ability to work well in a team environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop designs with strong conceptual thinking
• Develop designs with a refined sense of typography and composition
• Keeping projects organized and on track with budget and schedule
• Presenting design work to senior leadership and client
• Reading architectural plans, elevations and details
• Degree in graphic design or related field
• High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Excellent communication and writing skills
