KARA MANN is seeking a full time, Production Designer / Intern Architect to be located in our downtown Chicago office. As a Production Designer / Intern Architect, you will be responsible for developing, modifying and reviewing production drawings and construction documents. You will also be responsible for the correction and updates of documents as required and developing solutions to technical problems. In conjunction with the Project Manager, you may be responsible for keeping a phase of a project on schedule. You could also be responsible for the following:
• Preparing and monitoring project status reports • Conducting material and product research as required for project development • Interfacing with other discipline team leaders • Documenting interpretation and submittal reviews during bidding and construction administration
Skill, Knowledge, Education and Experience
• Minimum two years of experience in Architecture and/or Interiors industry. • Exceptional computer skills in AutoCAD required. Adobe Photoshop, InDesign a plus. • Ability to multi-task on several projects • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment • Knowledge of all aspects of professional services from schematic design through project close-out, including design and technical expertise • A comprehensive understanding of the coordination aspects and related requirements of all design disciplines • Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills • Very detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations
