This role will work closely with both the Architectural Team & Head of Quality Control
in the following functions:
Develop three-part specifications using Masterspec, SpecLink, or equal on all internal architecture projects
Work with architecture team to review plans and prepare specifications
Attain a broad knowledge of building codes, state housing agencies, Fair Housing guidelines, & Enterprise Green Communities.
Maintain and update office master specifications for the internal architecture team.
Develop and follow quality assurance processes and design standards
Review internal and external consultant construction documents and specifications for Dominium design standards, code compliance, state regulations, and local ordinances
Identify inadequacies or plan defects in multi-family home projects
Travel to project sites for initial property assessments & for periodic construction administration for Contractor compliance
Hold construction document review meetings with internal and external Architects & Engineers
Bachelors degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in Specification administration & Quality Control
Ability to design and implement corporate standards and systems
Ability to adapt to a variety of situation and markets including Sr. Housing, Affordable mulit-family housing, Historic building conversion & Market rate apartments
Understanding of various labor requirements (Davis Bacon wage requirements, union & non-union developments)
Excellent organization, & communication skills
Understanding of construction management processes, building codes, safety regulations and trades.
Timely and regular attendance
Ability to travel up to 50%
