CDL Design Group, a full-service commercial interior planning and design firm with over 30 years of design and planning experience, is seeking a motivated and experienced Architect specializing in Commercial projects.
As the key Architect, you are responsible for overall design and technical development of projects. You will also play a key role in mentoring the junior staff and managing existing clients.

Resolve issues design issues with creative and practical solutions
Job duties and requirements include, but are not limited to the following:
Has the proven ability to self-manage under pressure and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to prioritize and manage tasks against critical deadlines.
Independently coordinate between CDL Design team and outside consultants, vendors, fabricators, engineers and/or regulatory agencies
Solid critical-thinking skills with the willingness and ability to make decisions.
Professionally represent CDL Design Group – working with a variety of vendors, engineers, general contractors, landlords, property managers and property owners.
Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD 16 or above, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
Very knowledgeable of 2016 CBC and Accessibility Compliance.
Excellent technical knowledge of developing a full set of construction documents
Experience with occupancy calculations, fixture calculations, egress, fire department regulations, square foot calculations, building load calculations, etc
Knowledge of all commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the profession.
Ability to attend client meetings, project and construction sites
California Licensed Architect
Minimum 10 -15 years relevant experience
Proven business skills with a strong work ethic
Solid understanding of design process, building codes, accessibility compliance, materials and interior construction techniques
Excellent personality fit with CDL Design Group company culture
Proven ability to manage, lead and inspire others in an upbeat fashion
Expert technical, detail and constructability skills
Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and work well with a variety of staff
Attain the firm’s goals relative to design, technical and management excellence
Able to work independently as well as interact with the team
Be a U.S. citizen, or already possess a work visa for working in the U.S.
