The primary purpose of the Architectural Plan and Design Manager position is to create the strategic direction of the Sheetz store design (external and internal) while adhering to our Brand principles in order to create an exceptional customer experience, maximize sales opportunities and ensure the balance of function and aesthetics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)
Collaborates with the Sheetz Executive Committee, Planning Team and other key stakeholders to create the strategic direction of the design of our retail stores, to include present and future store designs.
Collaborates with key stakeholders on all aspects of executing the facility design strategy.
Develops and delivers creative design solutions for our store retail physical spaces for new and existing aspects of our business in order to maximize sales opportunities and enhance the customer experience, to include merchandising solutions, customer flow, materials, finishes, etc...
Leads the development of store design plans for major external and internal remodels to maximize sales and enhance the customer experience.
Leads important creative design initiatives to create an exceptional customer experience on current and new business concepts such as curb side pick-up, self-checkout and drive-thru.
Responsible for understanding marketing plans, company goals and initiatives, sales data, and customer feedback, and translating them into store design solutions.
Establish and maintain corporate office standards and master planning for corporate facilities.
Monitor and adhere to annual budgets for assigned area of responsibility to maximize profitability.
Maximize the development of direct reports through regular performance coaching, performance reviews and presenting development opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS:(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an NCARB accredited program or an undergraduate degree in a related design field and an NCARB accredited Master’s Degree in Architecture.
Minimum 7 years diversified experience leading a design team, preferably in retail
A portfolio of successful projects, in restaurant and/or retail environments, that illustrate appropriate experience and qualities
Experience managing or involvement in a capital expansion program is preferred
Current license to practice architecture in a state where Sheetz has retail facilities and an up to date certificate from the National Counsel of Architectural Registration Boards
