Project Designer (Intern Architect)

TimHaahs provides comprehensive planning, architectural design, and structural engineering services for mixed-use and parking related projects. Working within a project team, the Project Designer can expect to work on multiple projects at a time, from conceptualization to final design. You will contribute to schematic designs, design development, and construction documents. The ideal candidate also has experience with both hand-sketching and graphical rendering. Depending on your interests and long-term professional goals, this is an excellent role for someone who eventually wants to take on additional leadership, mentorship, and project management opportunities. Job Responsibilities * Work collaboratively with project teams to develop innovative design solutions * Prepare conceptual, schematic and final designs for variety of projects concurrently * Create graphic renderings, models, and presentation materials with a variety of tools * Prepare documentation throughout all phases of assigned projects, including schematic designs, design developments, and construction documents (Revit in particular) * Site analysis, conceptualization, final design, and hand-sketching * Occasional interaction with client, especially if ever functioning as a lead designer * Occasional same-day travel within the tri-state area to project sites Compensation & Benefits * Competitive annual salary commensurate with education & experience * Health, dental, short & long term disability, life, flex spend account * 401k plan with employer matching plan (up to 5%) * PTO that increases with company tenure * Opportunity for tuition reimbursement, professional association fee reimbursement, certification & licensure reimbursement * Free lunches throughout the week * Frequent group volunteering events, happy hours, and family events 2x a year * Childcare area attached to our office

Essential Requirements * Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture * 5-10 years of experience in architectural/design roles, throughout all phases of commercial architecture design projects * Strong working knowledge of both Revit (must have) and AutoCAD * Specific experience with construction documents, either leading or doing the majority of the involved work * Experience creating graphic renderings, models and other presentation materials using tools such as SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite * Experience with large scale, mixed use projects and/or parking projects is a plus * Hand sketching and architectural rendering skills a plus * Strong communication skills with both internal and external teams * High sense of empathy and humility towards both colleagues and clients * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision |
